Great little book June 11, 2009 J. O. Smith 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
As a family practice NP I'm always reaching for information that is always just outside of my circle of commonly used information. This little book offers succinct bits of information that I usually have to go look for, and it fits in my pocket!
Perfect "Go-To" Pocketbook June 3, 2010 Scott Nass 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Since obtaining this book shortly after starting my intern year, I have yet to find a more concise pocket reference for everyday (and some not-so-everyday) problems seen in the primary care and other settings. The book includes chronic and acute issues covering every bodily system, while also devoting time to women's, pediatric, and preventive health. The text is impeccably written and thoroughly referenced throughout, making further reading on each topic an easy task. As one would expect with a pocketbook, the print is quite small but ultimately legible and well worth the sacrifice as the book won't crowd the pockets of your white coat (or your shirt's breast pocket, for that matter). The table of contents is well organized by bodily system and makes finding relevant information painless. I would recommend this pocketbook highly for medical students, interns and residents on primary care rotations, and practicing professionals dealing with primary care issues.
Tiny! July 21, 2010 AbbyScents I thought this book was going to be the size of the pharm pocket book, but it is way smaller! Lots of information in a little book. The book is about the size of my hand, maybe a little smaller. I can read the print well without difficulty. Definite good all around primary care book.
I love this book September 20, 2009 Billy Davis 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book has been a great resource while zipping through clinical rotations. It may not cover *everything*, but the bulleted format hits most of the important information and points you in the right direction. The information is mostly grouped in categories--cardiology, endocrinology, pediatrics, etc.--which makes it easy to scan for the information you need. For a quick reference and reminder, it is well worth it.

This book has helpful information and is easy to maneuver. There are many good charts that have also been included.
