A handy-dandy little notebook. August 28, 2002 Rocco B. Rubino (Ohio) 29 out of 32 found this review helpful
This interview guide is the perfect companion to the novice practitioner. Zimmerman has condensed the interview sequence of the major disorders so that you can logically follow, and intentionally interview a client. This book is a little pricey for its size, but the content is A-1.

This is a must have for the beginning counselor. It offers an excellent comparison of disorders allowing for a quicker diagnosis, together with questions to pose to clients to verify/eliminate possible disorders.
Must have for all clinicians March 11, 2007 Ashley Smith 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a great tool for all clinicians. It would also be helpful to those that are not in the mental health field as well. I cannot say enough great things about this book. It breaks down the DSM into questions and an interview. The questions are simple, apply to all patients, and makes diagnosing easy.
A great guide for beginning students in need of a crutch November 25, 2007 socwkr (Chicago, IL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I recommend this text for all social work, psychology, psychiatry and medicine students who will be conducting assessments with psychiatric clients/patients. This is an excellent guide which offers direct lines of questioning for easy reference in conducting a competency based assessment for diagnostic purposes. The price is right and it's so small students can keep it with them at all times. Strongly recommended for those who are unsure of what to ask or how to respond to psychiatric patients. A great teaching tool.
Small, concise and helpful. March 18, 2007 CT (Providence, RI) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great small tool to use while assessing and diagnosing a client. In addition to DSM content, it suggests questions to ask in your interview to help determine diagnoses.
